my head is an island.

My head is an island, no bridges are attached. No way in, no way out. Pushing all my friends away, leave me here, please leave me here to die. My head is an island, no bridges are attached. No way in, no way out. I've been here for 17 years.

leaving home.

Thinking of leaving home and all the things I hold dear. Trading off my friends for cold Alaskan air. You will never see or hear from me again. My has never belonged in the Midwest.
Leaving behind the past four years of my life, the good, the bad, my fucked up relationships, everything I've come to love about this shitty fucking town.
My mom will cry, like she always does. I'll just laugh and say "mom you worry too fucking much about me."

hereditary thoughts

Hereditary thoughts of suicide keep me awake every night. My mom is sad, I am sad too. "Everyone's sad" is what my best friend says. I don't know what to do. I've tried to drink, I've tried to take all these prescriptions, nothing seems to help me.
Try to get professional help is what I keep hearing, but I dont think thats gonna help me much. Maybe tonight before I go to sleep, I'll tie a rope around my neck, I'll try to see if I have the balls to do it. Maybe I'll put my head in the oven, I heard that's the best way to do it. I don't want to make my mom sad, I don't want to make my friends upset. But I want to die. Please tell me there's a compromise.
I'm hoping tonight is the last time I close my eyes.

reminders

I'm always reminded of your point of view, even when I don't want to be.
You always remind me of the summer time.
You always remind me of The Fever Haze.
It's funny because we met in winter, but I still remember how you made me feel.
So I wanna know, did I make you feel the same way, Emily?
Do you miss how I used to brush your hair from your face?
